Comment: This is a new book on immigration
and is certainly worth the read. But what I have noticed, in all
of these books on immigration, is that they don't really fully document
the effect that legal immigration and outsourcing have had on working
Americans. Few of these books really get into the larger agenda
behind this "comprehensive amnesty reform" which both Democrats and
Republican will ultimately vote for after the November elections.
The larger agenda is known as the "North American Union" or the SPP.
"Comprehensive amnesty reform" is but the tip of the iceburg.
But the books do deliver on a message that we do agree: that legal and
illegal immigration need to be brought to a halt immediately.

Buchanan is sounding the alarm. Since 9/11, more than four million
illegal immigrants have crossed our borders, and there are more coming
every day. Our leaders in Washington lack the political will to uphold
the rule of law. The Melting Pot is broken beyond repair, and the future
of our nation is at stake.

With an estimated ten to fifteen million “illegals” already here and
tens of millions more poised to pour across our borders, few books could
be as timely---or important---as State of Emergency. It is essential
reading for all Americans.
About the Author
Patrick J. Buchanan, America’s leading populist conservative, was a
senior adviser to three American presidents, ran twice for the
Republican presidential nomination, in 1992 and 1996, and was the Reform
Party candidate in 2000. In his 1992 challenge to President George H. W.
Bush, Buchanan was the first national leader to put the issue of

In the run-up to the American entry into World War I, President Woodrow
Wilson, who knew that Americans were a fair-minded, tolerant people,
issued a warning: "Once lead this people into war and they'll forget
there ever was such a thing as tolerance...the spirit of ruthless
brutality will enter into every fiber of our national life."
This is the fire that the governing elites are playing with in refusing
to stop the invasion of illegal aliens into this country. As Buchanan
points out in Chapter 1: "In 1960, there were perhaps 5 million Asians
and Hispanics in the United States. Today, there are 57 million...this
is not immigration as America knew it...there are 36 million immigrants
and their children in the United States today, almost as many as came to
America between Jamestown in 1607 and the Kennedy election of
1960...this is an invasion, the greatest invasion in history."
"Against the will of a vast majority of Americans, America is being
transformed. As our elites nervously avert their gaze or welcome the
invasion, we are witness to one of the great tragedies in human
history..."
The problem is that the invaders think all Americans are as committed to
the death of the nation as it's ruling elites are. At the end of the
first chapter, Buchanan writes, "What can be said for a man who would
allow his home to be invaded by strangers who demanded that they be fed,
clothed, housed and granted the rights of the firstborn? What can be
said for a ruling elite that permits this to be done to the nation, and
that celebrates it as a milestone of moral progress?"
The invaders think that those in the American heartland are as cowardly
and as easily manipulated as are the ruling governors, Congressmen,
Senators and other elites, who lost the will to resist ages ago. The
popularity of this book, as well as the push-back that is only now
beginning, will disabuse them of this notion.
As I say, the invaders and the ruling elites, so one in purpose, are SO
WRONG. Neither group has a clue about the backlash that has already
begun--as the Bible says, sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
Bush's Attempt to Form a
"North American Union" Will End US Sovereignty and US Citizenship. This Must

If you were upset at how Congress has ignored your desire for limits on
immigration this is really going to get you upset. The SPP (Security
and Prosperity Partnership of North America ), also known as the "North
American Union," is the true overarching agenda behind the Senate's Amnesty

legal American citizen and crosses all ideological lines. It is
becoming clearer, by the day, that one of the American peoples most
dangerous enemies may actually be our very own government. It is
almost unbelievable to watch how the media has purposely shielded this

serious mistake by not taking to the streets when the government passed
NAFTA during the Clinton Administration. If the SPP succeeds both US

Middle East: Israelis Call for
Boycott of Hezbollah Hashish

This is the same thing I've been saying for years: Legalizing
Marijuana is a great first step for denying terrorist groups the 50% of
their profits that come from illicit drug sales. Both Islamo-Fascists
and Mexican smugglers would quickly feel the loss of revenue should we
embark on such a intelligent strategy. And that is exactly what the
following article is recommending. In addition to limiting terrorist
revenue it would also free up law enforcement to pursue the growing number
of illegal immigrants that continue to concentrate themselves within our

Israeli drug users have long been happy to puff on Lebanese hashish, but
now, as war between the two countries rages, some are calling for a boycott
because the cross-border trade helps finance Hezbollah, The Jewish Daily
Forward reported Thursday. Hashish is the most popular form of marijuana in
Israel, and Lebanon is the number one supplier, according to Israeli law
enforcement. (8/11/06 )
The boycott call came from activist and Jerusalem resident Dan Sieradski,
who posted the idea on his Orthodox Anarchist blog. "A Persian-backed
terrorist organization is the primary supplier of hashish to the Israeli
market today," Sieradski wrote. "And this is why, with a heavy heart, I am
officially boycotting hashish, effective immediately."

Hashish grown in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley has traditionally been smuggled into
Israel by Israeli Arabs, Bedouins, and Druze nomads, but the Forward reports
that since Israel withdrew from Lebanon in 2000, Hezbollah has taken over
the trade -- and the associated profits. "Hezbollah is directly overseeing
the entire operation," Police Captain Avi ElGrisi was quoted as saying in
The Jerusalem Post. "They say where, when, and how much drugs are brought
in."
Sieradski's call has met with mixed results. For some Israeli hash heads,
the boycott is a way of expressing their dismay at the war and Hezbollah's
relentless rocket attacks on Israel. "The thing is, if you buy your drugs
from Lebanon, you could well be funding terrorism through Hezbollah against
Israel," one user commented. "Who among us would want that on their
conscience? Not me!" Another young boycotter commented: "It's bad enough
that they're trying to blow up our country. I'm not going to pay them to do
it."
Not everyone is on board. The Forward quoted one Jerusalem area dealer as
saying, "It all comes from Hezbollah," but he could care less. His comment
on the boycott? "Roll that shit, light that shit, smoke that shit."
The boycott call has also prompted some to argue that it is time to legalize
the hash trade in order to weaken Hezbollah. As long as there are illicit
profits to be made, it's money in the bank for the Shiite resistance
organization, they noted.
The boycott call may also be an expression of the reality on the ground
inside Israel. With the Lebanon-Israel border the scene of heavy fighting,
it is questionable just how much Lebanese hash is getting through right now.
How US Census is hiding the
growing influx of Mid Eastern and Hispanic Immigrants

A: Amazingly the US Census Department has decided
to role Mid Easterners up into the "White" category and Hispanics into
"Other." How does this make any sense?
Rather than shed a light on immigration trends it
appears that the Census Bureau is attempting to obfuscate the data.
Legal and Illegal Hispanic Immigration constitutes the largest ethnic
influx into the United States over the last 30 years. But who
would know it if they role them up into the category of "other."
And don't you think we would like to know how many Mid-Easterners are
coming into the US? But how would we know that if the Census
reports role this group up into the race class of "White?"
This is the same Census Department that let us know
the Hispanics would become the majority, in the United States, by 2050.
Of course this was because they are nothing more than propagandists that
are greasing the skids so that this does, in fact, occur. Changes
in immigration policy could thwart this eventuality and they know it.
After reading through this report in the Free
Press, "A
Michigan Snapshot," I was wondering where the Mid-Easterners fall
(e.g., White or Asian). The answer is "white." This concerns me
because it appears that they are trying to mask the infusion of
Mid-Easterners to cities like Dearborn by categorizing them as "white":
not a likely assumption by any of the readers, who I would argue would
place them as "Asian" if forced to choose between categories. The
report was based on this relatively new study by the "American Community
Survey" which the article also fails to link to the US Census Department
of the US Government. One wonders why the obfuscation?
So the FP article cites a increase of [85,957(2005)
- 84,540(2000)] 1,470 "whites" in Dearborn between 2000 and 2005. How
many of them were from Lebanon and other Mid-Eastern countries. Was
this change of categories, made in 1997, made to mask the influx of
Mid-Easterners by classifying them as "white?"
Of the 5 racial categories, (White, Black or
African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, and Native
Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander), I doubt many would place people
from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan etc. as “white.” But that is
exactly what they did and you have to wonder why. You might wonder,
also, why they didn’t provide an additional category, “Mid-Eastern,” to
define these populations.

So the bigger question becomes . . "Is there any
way of distilling, from this data, the net influx of Mid-Easterners into
SE Michigan or specific cities therein?" And when I say "net", this is
what I am getting at. Could it be that there were actually 10,000 more
Mid-Easterners moving into Dearborn, but that 8,530 non-Mideastern
"whites" moved out during this period of time [2000- 2005}?"
Of course what we would all like to know is how
many of these Mid-Easterners may be attached to terror cells in the
area. Before you discount the question consider that the FBI believes
that there are 200,000 terrorists already in the United States. I doubt
many of them are Scottish.

Bureau, reflects self-identification by people according to the race or
races with which they most closely identify. These categories are
socio-political constructs and should not be interpreted as being
scientific or anthropological in nature. Furthermore, the race
categories include both racial and national-origin groups. The
racial classifications used by the Census Bureau adhere to the October
30, 1997, Federal Register Notice entitled, “Revisions to the Standards

Yes,
there are obviously signs of a hostile takeover in the indictment of GOP
lobbyist Jack Abramoff, or the conviction of Rep. Duke Cunningham (R-CA)
on bribery charges. But the hostile takeover is most prevalent in the
places we don't see - the almost invisible, day to day corruption tales
that plague American politics. One day, it is a little-noticed amendment
in a big spending bill in Congress. The next day it is political
reporters refusing to address major economic challenges that average
Americans are faced with. And still the next day it is a politician
boldly lying to the public about who is behind what they are doing.
As a staffer on Capitol Hill for five years, I had a front row seat to
the hostile takeover, and how it plagues both political parties. My book

A summary of Sirota's book would point out that millions lack health
care, and even more struggle to afford it. Politicians claim they care,
then pass legislation that provides more profits for drug companies and
insurers. At the same time, inflation-adjusted wages have been largely
stagnant, while corporate profits have skyrocketed. In this instance,
politicians "help out" by further depressing wages by continuing to
allow millions of illegal and temporary legal immigrants into the U.S.,
and additional millions of jobs outsourced overseas. Despite an obvious
need for energy conservation, our government takes its lead from V.P.
Dick Cheney and does nothing. Welcome to today's world of lobbyists',
lies, and legislation for sale.
The "really bad news" is that they're not satisfied. Possible future
legislation includes a flat income tax (a huge tax cut for the wealthy,
and a huge tax increase for everyone else - per Reagan's '82 Treasury
Dept.), permanent elimination of the estate tax (only 2% were paying,
and half the receipts came from the top .1% with estates over $5
million), and reducing corporate taxes from their 35% level - "fourth
highest" in the industrialized world (a '04 GAO report concluded that
94% paid less than 5%, and that 60,000 government contractors owed $6
billion in unpaid taxes), more personal tax cuts (to justify further
cuts in veterans' healthcare, inadequate/non-funding of Army armor and
New Orleans' levees - the pre-Katrina official protesting the latter was
immediately fired).
Not upset yet - read on. USA Today reported in late '05 that while the
60 worst performing companies in America lost 4769 billion in market
value in the prior five years, their top five executives were paid an
average of $8 million/year. Meanwhile, University of California
researchers in '04 found that jobs in the bottom third of the pay scale
were growing almost twice as fast as those in the middle.
"Hostile Takeover" also puts to rest the myth of "free" trade.
Provisions include insuring U.S. access to potentially
hepatitis-carrying Mexican vegetables and Canadian beef with mad-cow
disease, while banning importation of cheaper drugs and limiting other
nations' ability to produce generic medicines. In '01, economists
estimated that three-fourths of U.S. workers lost about 12% of current
wages because of trade deals. At least we still have some - the New York
Times reported the loss of over 2 million manufacturing jobs between '01
- '04, while Gartner Research estimated over 30% of high-tech jobs could
be shipped overseas by '15 and University of California researchers
estimated up to 14 million jobs are now at risk of outsourcing.
There's more: Harvard researchers found that 90% of personal
bankruptcies were due to illness, medical bills, job loss, death in the
family, and/or divorce. Meanwhile, the Kauffman Foundation's '05 study
concluded that 20% of recent bankrupts had been operating a small
business. No matter - the myth of deadbeat debtors ruining credit card
companies persists, and Congress recently made personal bankruptcy laws
much tougher.
At least we can count on retirement - not! In '02 AP reported that 8
million workers saw their retirement plans converted to "cash balance"
payouts only - a loss of up to $200 million, according to government
sources. As for Social Security, a top University of Chicago economist
estimates Wall St. would make $400 billion - $1 trillion in fees under
the Bush privatization plan. No matter you say - Chile and Galveston,
Texas have proven the concept's superiority. Unfortunately, the World
Bank found that up to one-third of Chileans' retirement money went to
fees (the public version went bankrupt - hence, no comparisons are
available), and several government reports have concluded that
many/most/all Galveston employees will receive LESS than they would have
from Social Security.
Well, at least some of us have our health. Hopefully the growing number
without health insurance will not get sick; as for universal
governmental coverage - private insurance made over $10 billion in '03,
with top executives raking in $85 million each. As for the innovative
drugs many can't afford because of high prices "required for research" -
the former New England Journal of Medicine's editor states that they
"come almost entirely from publicly funded research done in government
and university labs." Further evidence: Princeton's Uwe Reinhardt says
that "R&D spending (as a % of drug industry revenues) is equal or higher
in Europe (with price controls) as here" - specifically, 20% in Britain,
vs. 14% in the U.S.
Finally, "fuel efficiency kills people," or so opponents say. On the
other hand, University of Michigan, Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory researchers and a government panel all have concluded that
cars can be made as safe/safer than most SUVs, and especially better
than most pickups.
Truly an encyclopedic work documenting how business has stolen and
perverted American democracy. While Sirota offers specific
recommendations in each area, the biggest problem involves providing a
means for voters to see through all the lies and mis-statements.
Publicly-funded elections may be the answer.

I bought and read both this book, and John Stossel's "Myths, Lies, and
Downright Stupidity." This is a serious book for serious people.
Stossel's book is full of trivia and generally a waste of time.
This author focuses on the substance of taxes, wages, jobs, debt,
pensions, health care, prescription drugs, energy, unions, and legal
rights, and he does it in an engaging methodical manner that discusses
the issue, highlights in turn myths, lies, and half-truths, and then
ends with proposed solutions, all of them sensible.
It merits comment that this book is endorsed on the back cover by many
people I respect from Al Gore ("Inconvenient Truth") to Bill Greider
("Who Will Tell the People" and "The Soul of Capitalism") to Jim
Hightower ("Thieves in High Places).
The bottom line is clear: the U.S. government at the political level,
whether Republican or Democratic, is completely corrupt. Every
Congressman and every President, every Senator, have so many conflicts
of interest as to be incapable of representing the people honestly.
Congress no longer represents the people. Let me repeat that: Congress
no longer represents the people. They are either bribed by special
interests or forced to follow the party line (see Tom Coburn, "Breach of
Trust") by party leaders who have been bribed by special interests.
This author ends with a sensible bottom line: engage from the bottom up,
and push for public financing of elections (I would include free
television time from the PUBLIC airwaves), and until then, contribute to
honest politicians who will forego campaign contributions.
The Unity '08 movement established by Hamilton Jordan proposes to field
an Independent candidate fully funded by the people. As Joe Trippi and
Howard Dean demonstrated, the people CAN out-spend and out-vote the
corporations if they have a mind to. Jordon is half-way to the right
answer--the rest of the answer is a Democratic President, a Republican
Vice-President, two new Deputy Vice Presidents (John McCain for national
security, overseeing Defense, State, and Justice, and Bill Bradley for
everything else), and a COALITION cabinent. Separately a NON-RIVAL party
has been created, the Citizens Party, to post a transparent national
budget that is also balanced, and to engage voters from ALL parties in
support of one single public interest issue: electoral reform in 2007,
in time for an honest election the extremist Republicans cannot steal as
they stole in 2000 via Florida and in 2004 via Ohio.
Lest anyone doubt the depth of this book's documented concerns, see my

There's a reason why America seems like we've slipped off our moorings
-- WE HAVE, and this book explains who has bought our country out from
under us. If you have the unsettled feeling that there's something wrong
with your representation in Washington, something wrong with the
direction America is heading, and something wrong with the America our
kids will inherit, READ THIS BOOK, please. The author explains quite
convincingly that America has been bought, although we CAN take it back.
Read how! You owe it to your kids.

to our Country and suggests what we can do about it. We have been losing
our precious Democracy and something has to be done about that! I love

Most liberals out there can successfully nail an economic libertarian
ideology for all its evils but David Sirota is one unique liberal, or
shall I say populist progressive, who knows how to nail Libertarians for
violating much of their own libertarian ideology or for that matter
"conservatives" going too radical. Case in point, "free trade". For all
the bashing against protectionists, "conservatives" and libertarians
knowingly abuse it to protect their big business cronies from
competition but at the same time force everyone else to be picked apart
by cheap and illegal labor ! Thank god, as David Sirota pointed out in
one of his articles, that even in the deep red south, union membership
is growing. For far too long, the south has gotten a bad rap for slavery
and racism but Sirota's book exposes the real slavery and racism misused
by corporate profiteers just to maximize their own bottom line while
giving everyone else the shaft. It's time to put down our differences on
hot-button issues, unite like the ARMY, and fight the takeover and
Sirota's book has plenty of ammo to help you out. Thank you, David !
P.S.: I look forward to Senators Jon Tester, Sherrod Brown, Bernard
Sanders, and Bob Casey leading the fight in the Senate to reign in the
business terrorists especially from Wall Street!
Upcoming Lectures and
Demonstrations
The Editor of New Age Citizen, is
considering giving a series of lectures that challenge the current
"Demopublican" plutocracy with policy alternatives that are more to the
interests of the American working class. The first lecture in the
series will most likely address the current Immigration Reform measures
that are being debated both in Congress and on the streets of America.
Lecture #001: No More Immigration: Legal or Illegal
This lecture will address the virtual propaganda surrounding the
current immigration debate. It will expose the larger agenda that
is intent on destroying the middle class by attempting to merge the
United States into a "North American Union" consisting of Mexico, Canada
and the United States. The primary argument against immigration focuses
on the inability of the United States to provide adequate sustainable
resources for the 200 million additional immigrants that will exceed the
carrying capacity of this great country by 2050. The lecture will
conclude that the best interests of legal American citizens will be
served by implementing mandatory employer Social Security checks;
punishing employers with extreme prejudice and putting an end to all
Legal/Illegal immigration until the real wages of Americans is at or

become a slogan for referring to the set of policy positions that NAC
will be promoting in the coming years. It refers to a disturbing
trend whereby our elected representatives appear to be increasingly at
odds with the values of the founding fathers of this country (e.g.,
