Why Obama's Current Immigration and Drug Policy is Really a Policy of Age Discrimination Aimed at Older American Citizens as well as a means to provide Corporate Welfare to the Health Insurance and Pharmaceutical Industries.
Synopsis:
The most sensible thing Obama could do for the American Health Care System would be the following:
* Implement a Single Payer system saving the 15 to 30% that currently goes to the Health Insurance Industry. * Restrict access exclusively to Legal American Citizens by processing all applicants through the E-Verify System. * Extend E-Verify to every new and existent US worker in order to force Illegal Immigrants and Visa Overstays out of their jobs so real American Workers can take those jobs. This would also prevent any further Illegal Immigrants from accessing emergency care that is ultimately paid for by Legal American Taxpayers. * Legalize the "Self Cultivation" of Marijuana so that the sick and poor are able to grow their medicines for free instead of paying through the nose for Pharmaceutical drugs that are often more dangerous and less efficacious for certain ailments (AIDS, MS, Glaucoma etc.).
This essay also makes the case that the United State's -- Multi-National Corporately Controlled Government -- is promoting both Legal and Illegal Immigration in order to displace the aging population of US born "baby boomers" (those born 1946 - 1964) with a much younger population of foreign immigrants (e.g., those born after1982 in 2009). This is supported by the largely ignored fact that both illegal and legal immigrants arrive here at the average ages of 22 and 27 years of age respectively. In this essay I compare our policy makers to farmers, practicing the art of Animal Husbandry. But the crucial difference here is that our representatives are not euthanizing animals, they're euthanizing older American Citizens.
Once the American People fully understand this I predict that there will be a backlash against the Government, and the controlling Multi-Nationals, that will be without precedent. Introduction:
I believe that Obama is the most prejudiced President in US history and I’m quite confident I can make that case stick and then some.
The term prejudice derives from the Latin “to pre judge.” So the term is inclusive of all sorts of discrimination: racism, ageism, classism, sexism, sexual preference etc.
My contention is that Obama’s prejudice is squarely centered on age discrimination. Let me explain.
Since December 2007 to June 2009 – about 18 months – a record 6 million Americans have joined the ranks of the unemployed. In the last 6 months we have been loosing record numbers of jobs: 600,000 jobs most months. Worse yet a visit to www.shadowstats.com will quickly reveal that even these figures understate the true magnitude of the problem. In fact by some estimates the number of unemployed and underemployed is well over 20 million: from an estimated workforce of around 140 million.
You would think, during such times of unprecedented unemployment, that any compassionate President would at least temporarily impose a moratorium on all immigration into the United States: both Legal and Illegal. Instead Obama is attempting to follow his predecessors by using Health Care, Immigration and Drug Policy to bring in much younger Legal and Illegal Immigrants while displacing largely older American workers from their jobs while simultaneously reducing their access to affordable health care. In addition he is refusing to legalize the "self cultivation" of Marijuana to insure that the Pharmaceutical Industry a monopoly over the access to cheaper, and often more efficacious, herbal medicines such as Marijuana.
The current state of Legal Immigration into the US:
Suspending all Visa programs would seem like a sensible method to address the “Legal Immigration” side of the equation. But that is not what Obama did. Instead he allowed – and continues to allow – 138,00 legal immigrants into the country each month despite concurrent jobs losses of over 600,000 American jobs during those same months. So while millions of American workers continue to loose their jobs this year Obama will be bringing in nearly 2.5 million Legal Immigrants in 2009, while as many as 7.2 million Americans (600,000 per month) could find themselves unemployed.
And if this were not bad enough you have to consider that many of the foreign students are essentially having their university educations subsidized to the tune of nearly $10,000 dollars each year. And when they graduate they will ultimately be taking away the jobs of American Citizens. How much longer are we going to put up with this?
The current state of Illegal Immigration into the US:
Then there is the issue of Illegal Immigration which the Corporate Media has been saying has ebbed in the last year, largely due to the bad economy. But it has not stopped and the millions that are still here are working jobs that American workers could be doing.
You would think, during such times of unprecedented unemployment, that any compassionate President would fully exploit any tools in his toolbox to completely stop further Illegal Immigration. E-Verify is that tool.
E-Verify is 99.6% accurate in determining if a given worker is a legal American Citizen or not. And all it requires from the employer is a computer that is hooked up to a high speed internet connection: something even most homeowners have. It basically works by comparing the workers Social Security Number to what is in the Social Security database: the ultimate “source of truth,” as my old mentor Jim Martin used to say. And the 0.4% of inaccuracies are most usually resolved within a week.
Currently thousands of businesses are using the E-Verify system. And it would be relatively simple to expand the system so that virtually all business could be mandated to use E-Verify. It is also worth noting that, currently, the E-Verify system is only allowed to screen new hires: not existing employees. This is unfortunate since there are as many as 20 Million Illegal Immigrants and Visa Overstays (e.g., foreigners who brake our laws by staying here beyond the limit of their visas) who are already here taking up jobs that American workers could be doing.
So here is the bottom line. If Obama would merely expand the E-Verify system to all US employers and require that both new and current employees are screened: we might just create 20 million jobs for US workers.
But once again that is not what Obama is doing. Instead he is doing everything he can to completely defund and destroy the E-Verify Program in order to serve the interests of his Multi-National Corporate Masters. He is screwing us.
The Illegal Immigration issue also has ramifications with drug policy. Mexican Drug Cartels now operate in over 230 American Cities and ship nearly 38 billion each year back to Mexico: 27 billion (about 70%) is from the cultivation and sale of Marijuana. It is safe to assume that this requires the cooperation of hundreds of thousands of Illegal Mexican Immigrants. So another thing Obama could do is simply Re-Legalize Marijuana so that all adults could grow it without any taxes, regulation of other forms of government interference. This is known as the MERP Model. By doing this hundreds of thousands of Illegal Alien Mexican Drug Cartel Workers would go broke and be forced to move back to Mexico. And without any expensive taxation or regulation it would keep nearly 27 billion dollars in the US economy each and every year after the MERP Model is fully implemented.
Note that the moneyed drug reform organizations (NORML, Drug Policy Alliance and the Marijuana Policy Project) are pushing for “Government Marijuana Dispensaries” that will not take enough money out of the black market in Marijuana which is necessary if we expect to eliminate the Mexican Drug Cartels.
Taking the "black market" profit out of Marijuana is also important to reducing Pharmaceutical Health Care costs. Each and every year the cost of pharmaceutical drugs far exceeds the consumer price index making them more and more difficult for average Legal American Citizens to afford. And while there are Cannabis based medicines available, in the form of Marinol and Sativex, the prices are prohibitive. Both Marinol and Sativex can generate monthly bills of nearly $1,000 each. Yet if all Americans could simply "grow their own," without any taxation or regulation, they could enjoy the same medical benefits, if not better benefit, for free or very close to free. “Government Marijuana Dispensaries” would predictably charge between $300 to $500 an ounce erasing any financial benefit from what is really a form of quasi-prohibition. The only difference is that instead of paying drug dealers obscene prices for you Marijuana, you will be paying it to the Government or to the Pharmaceutical Industry. Feeling better yet?
The following excerpt gives some insight as to why the Pharmaceutical Industry is so opposed to the "self cultivation" of Marijuana:
The main reason that marijuana remains illegal, or at least not used as medication, is money. Too many companies in the pharmaceutical industry stand to lose too much money from competing with medicinal marijuana. The Pharmaceutical companies do research, create a synthetically made chemical for a treatment of a certain disease and then patent. U.S. patents last around 20 years and effectively give the company a monopoly on that drug. This in turn drives the price up for many years after FDA approval, until the patent runs out and generic forms of the drug are made available. The reason that drug companies would not want marijuana manufactured is that it can been grown cheaply and easily. It could effectively be a less costly alternative to the drug therapies that patients can access now and may treat myriad of disease that could infringe on the consumer market of other medications.
The amount of money derived from the pharmaceutical industry, and hence the lobbyists that work for them, has led to an inherent hypocrisy in U.S. policy towards marijuana. While listing marijuana as a Schedule I drug, which supposedly has no medical benefits, the U.S. still allows pharmaceutical companies to conduct research and make products that harness the medicinal powers of THC, the main psychoactive chemical in marijuana. This already implies that marijuana has medicinal benefit and therefore should not be listed as a Schedule I drug. One such drug, Marinol, is already available for prescription use in the U.S. to treat the side effects associated with chemotherapy and AIDS patients. So by insisting on the "self cultivation" of Marijuana we will destroy the Drug Cartels, force many Illegal Immigrants to "self deport," and drastically reduce the costs of our medicines.
Why current immigration policy is really a veiled form of age discrimination.
So what does this have to do with age discrimination you ask? Well what they really don’t discuss too much is the fact that the average Illegal Hispanic Immigrant is around 22 and the average Legal Foreign Immigrant is around 27. Meanwhile most of the Americans loosing their jobs are over 40, though there is also significant job loss amongst younger Legal American Citizens as well.
And why would they want to do a thing like that: screw older American workers? They do it because it saves the Multi-National Corporations lots of money. That’s why. Let’s consider a few age related issues.
(1) How does business save on their health care costs by getting rid of older workers?
It costs about twice as much to provide health insurance for a 50 year old worker than a 35 year old worker. And after 50 the disparity actually accelerates. So supplanting older American Workers with younger Foreign Workers (Legal or Illegal) saves billions of dollars each year for Multi-National Corporations ranging from Ford Motor to General Electric.
I actually first learned about this largely unknown fact through fellow activist Tim Beck, who is in the business of selling health insurance plans to mid to large corporations. During a period of unemployment he cited this fact as the reason that I, then 46 years of age, was probably not going to find a job. I could never really find a written source to back this up until I read a recent article, ironically supporting illegal immigration. But the article clearly supports what Tim shared with me nearly 9 years ago:
Consider a few statistics. According to a July article in the American Journal of Public Health, immigrants typically arrive in America during their prime working years and tend to be younger and healthier than the rest of the U.S. population. As a result, health-care expenditures for the average immigrant are 55 percent lower than for a native-born American citizen with similar characteristics. With the ratio of seniors to workers projected to increase by 67 percent between 2010 and 2030, it stands to reason that including the relatively healthy, relatively employable and largely uninsured illegal population in some sort of universal health-care system would be a boon rather than a burden. "Insurance in principle has to cover the average medical cost of all the people it's serving," explains Leighton Ku, a professor of health policy at George Washington University. "So if you add cheaper people to the pool, like immigrants, you reduce the average cost." More undocumented workers, in other words, means lower premiums for everyone. Wait a Second. This also explains why Obama has made sure that "Single Payer" health care remains "off the table." Because with "Single Payer" health care each citizen would receive care regardless of whether they are currently working. Obama would rather see older workers thrown out of the job market, to be replaced by younger workers who are cheaper to insure. This way the older workers will slowly become both jobless and without any form of healthcare. It is also quite likely that the "medical boards" that Obama would set up would ultimately restrict whatever care older Americans got. Remember Obama also said any Health Care Plan had to be "revenue neutral." That is political jargon for saying that someone is going to suffer from his Health Care Plan.
It also explains why Obama is pushing so hard for granting Amnesty to all of these Legal and Illegal Immigrants. Not only will they be undeservedly granted citizenship: they will also be first in line to receive health care and other entitlements that are normally only granted to actual US citizens. In point of fact many illegal immigrants are already receiving Medicare and Medicaid because there is no E-Verify check on their status before receiving such benefits. The only program that makes sense is some for of Single Payer system as it eliminate nearly 15 to 35 percent of the undeserved profits that are currently going to the HMO's, PPO's etc.
(2) Why did Obama really push the Auto industry into bankruptcy?
Because by doing this he would allow the Multi-National owners to renege on the entitlements that they promised the older workers: workers who in many cases have been working 6 days a week for decades to realize these benefits. So they turn their pensions over to the PBGC effectively reducing the workers pension by 50 percent. And then they destroy the retirement health care that they had promised through skyrocketing co pays and expanding “rules” that make access to care increasingly difficult. All the while the media obfuscates this reality, by substituting the term “legacy costs,” without discussing the nature of the costs or who looses (e.g., the older worker) when bankruptcy is used to make the legacy costs disappear.
(3) What is the age-related aspect of the current housing market?
Many older Americans were actually counting on working jobs that would allow them to mature in their roles and make a wage that would significantly rise beyond the average annual Consumer Price Index (CPI). That was considered to be a fair assumption when they took out a mortgage for their homes 20 to 30 years ago. Instead many of them have been displaced by much younger foreign workers and have been forced to settle for lower paying jobs that no longer pay health insurance, vacation, 401-K match or pension benefits. Meanwhile the value of their homes has decreased as much as 50% over the last 2 years. As a result many are loosing their homes to foreclosure for reasons they could no possibly imagine 20 years ago. And as the ultimate humiliation, they are forced into foreclosure. Finally, their homes are bought up by younger workers (many of them foreign) who don’t have an existent home, that is under water (e.g., the house is now worth less than they originally paid for it) to worry about. It is a win-win for the foreigners and a loose-loose for the older American Worker.
And to add insult to injury we are allowing foreigners -- Chinese, Middle Eastern, Indian -- to buy our "bargain basement" homes even though they aren't even American Citizens. Yet Americans can't do the same thing in any of these countries and Obama supports this example of high treason. Meanwhile the older American has been shed from his $27 dollar an hour job and is forced to work for $8 dollars an hour without benefits. Ultimately the older worker cannot afford to stay in homes that they have been paying second, or third mortgages on, for decades.
Was this the “change” people voted for when they elected Obama in November 2008?
(4) How will Obama’s Health Care Plan benefit Illegal Aliens at the expense of American Workers?
It is apparent from Obama’s intent to destroy the E-Verify system that he wants to grant both Illegal Aliens and Visa Overstays Citizenship. And it quite likely that, of the 45 million Americans without Health Insurance, as many as 26 million are Illegal Aliens of one sort or another. And on top of that he will not consider the “Single Payer” option that most experts say is the only viable solution to our health care problems. And since “Single Payer” would separate health insurance, from the employer, it would reduce or eliminate the age discrimination to compel current employers to overlook older employees. Instead he is beholden to his Multi-National Corporate handlers that simply want to push the older unemployed workers into a ditch.
It is time to expose Obama for the egregious “Ageist” that he really is. Unfortunately “Ageism” has become the new leading edge of prejudice: now becoming far more prevalent than racial discrimination. Obama’s actions expose the prejudice, and specific form of discrimination, now institutionally directed at older Legal American Citizens.
Obama Moving Forward to Grant Amnesty to Illegal Aliens
Today (06/19/2009) Obama made it abundantly clear that he was going to grant amnesty for up to 26 million Illegal Aliens:
Let me translate that for you. What Obama is really saying is that he is going to displace millions of mostly older Americans with much younger Illegal Aliens that won’t cost nearly as much in terms of health care and other entitlements.

And that is exactly what Obama is doing to the burgeoning numbers of newly retiring Baby Boomers. This could be one of the worst crimes of the last thousand years."
This actually goes much further than mere "Ageism with extreme prejudice." It is actually far worse than the Eugenics agenda that Alex Jones incessantly talks about. What Obama is doing is much more like Animal Husbandry, accept the animals are Older American Citizens. It is not uncommon for farmers to euthanize their animals once they get to old to be useful. And that is exactly what Obama is doing to the burgeoning numbers of newly retiring Baby Boomers. This could be one of the worst crimes of the last thousand years.
What Obama is doing is bringing Orwell’s “Animal Farm” to life and essentially putting older Americans to death. For what are these growing millions of unemployed older Americans going to do, once disposed of their homes, their pensions, their health coverage: their very ability to survive? It is highly unlikely that they will find jobs paying anything close to the pay and benefits that they were previously making before this onslaught of Legal and Illegal Immigrants were allowed to wash up upon our shores.
This same issue was brought to the fore the other week when Congressman Wilson said Obama lied at a recent joint session of Congress. He was referring to the fact that Obama was lying when he said that Illegal Immigrants would not receive coverage. In the weeks after the remark the Mainstream Corporate Media focused on Wilson's obligation to apologize to Obama. It might have been nice if they could have at least admitted that Wilson was correct: Obama lied. About a week later he spoke before Hispanic Group and reassured them that he would see to it that all 26 million of them would become legal citizens. So while Obama could say he was technically correct, in practical terms he lied.
Conclusion
If there has ever been a time for the American People to rise up it is now. Every day that we allow Obama’s Multi-National Corporate agenda to move forward is another day that thousands of Americans are being displaced from their jobs by foreign workers. And at the same time Obama is allowing the offshoring of additional jobs and manufacturing to countries that specialize in “cheap labor” such as China. Most of the new Ford and GM cars are gong to be built in Mexico and China.
Fortunately there are a number of policies that can be put in place now to reverse Obama’s movement towards a “Human Animal Farm” where older Americans will be displaced from the job market and will be faced with foreclosure, eviction and economic ruin. And these actions will also make Health Care affordable for all Americans: especially the older Americans who actually need access to acute health care services:
(1) Completely Stop all Legal Immigration into the United States for at least 20 years.
(2) Immediately require all employers to used E-Verify on all new and existent workers. All Illegal Immigrants and Visa Overstays will have to train their Legal American Counterparts before returning home.
(3) Legalize Marijuana immediately under the MERP Model in order to destroy the Mexican Drug Cartels and force those involved out of their jobs and back to Mexico. This would also reduce the cost of Pharmaceutical Drugs by forcing competition while also insuring that an alternative medicine is available for free if the "patient" decides to "grow their own."
(4) Implement a Single Payer Health Care System which will only be extended to Legal American Citizens who mush first be verified as such through the E-Verify system. Since Single Payer is separated from the employer the employer would no longer to discriminate against older workers on the basis of their age.
(5) All deported Legal and Illegal Immigrants will have complete biometric data collected (e.g., fingerprints, iris scans etc.) from each before being deported. Any that return will be subjected to 10 years of hard labor.
(6) From the time Obama signed the TARP Bailout on 10/03/2008 nearly 15 Trillion dollars has been allocated to the very “banksters” that offshored our jobs, offshored our factories and allowed this invasion of young carpet bagging foreigners. Based on an adult population of 200 Million we could give $75,000 to each adult and allow them to pay off all of their debt: housing, credit and tuition. If anything is left after that they can keep the remainder. So let’s take back every last dime and give it back to the American people. This would stabilize the fall in housing prices and stop the sell off of this country to Saudi, Chinese and other foreign carpet baggers.
In addition to this I would encourage you to familiarize yourself with the “New Agenda for America” and the “MERP” Model for Re-Legalizing Marijuana for adults. Both would be of great benefit to Legal American Citizens of the United States. And it is upon this agenda that I will be running as a “write-in” candidate for the 2012 Presidential Election.

Comment: Though this does appear to be from a group that is also against a Single Payer Healthcare system it is useful in its information speculating that Obama's Health Care would also discriminate against older workers. I haven't read it thoroughly but I don't know that it argues that Obama's Amnesty, for Illegal Aliens, will also economically impact the program by bringing in an additional 12 to 26 million Illegal Immigrants that we would have to subsidize with our tax dollars. Right now, as you read this letter, politicians in Washington are scheming behind closed doors to impose a massive government-run health care system on the American people.
Forget, for just a moment, the 1.6 trillion cost to taxpayers for the “downpayment” on this plan. Forget, for just a moment, that the cost of Obama-Kennedy-Pelosi-Care will bankrupt the nation.
What should really concern you is not its cost... but rather its callousness.
Probably the most horrifying aspect of Obama-Kennedy-Pelosi-Care is that it will actually limit your family’s health care choices, put government bureaucrats and accountants in charge of your family’s medical decisions, and enable these government bureaucrats to actually play God – deciding who gets what treatment and when.
The dirty little secret is that Barack Obama’s and Teddy Kennedy’s and Nancy Pelosi’s idea of “reforming” American health care seems to be Less Care for All, Little or No Care for Some.

"[T]heir secret emerges: They are going to cut medical costs by cutting medical care. ... decisions will not be medical but financial. They will not be based on a doctor’s opinion of what his or her patient needs, but a bureaucrat’s and an accountant’s opinion of what the new health care system can afford."
"And you will not be able to bypass their rulings and pay for this care yourself. The rules laid down must be followed and private payments will not be permitted to override them. What we now call a private fee for service will metastasize into a bribe.
"But this is just the very beginning... rationing is coming, and coming soon."
Rationing of services? Denial of choice? Is that the kind of “reform” you want?
If you need a CAT Scan or an MRI, forget it. If you need antibiotics, maybe – only if they’re approved by the federal government. As for potentially life-saving or life-extending treatments, take a number and stand in line.
Is this why our so-called leaders in Washington want to bankrupt the nation in the name of “reform?”
We say “no.”
But simply saying no is not enough. We must, right here and right now, tell our elected officials that we want them to say "no" to government-run health care as well.
This is perhaps the biggest fight for freedom in a generation. It is about the liberty to make our own health care decisions, in consultation with the doctors of our choice, rather than the federal government doing it for us!

Empty Promises Lead to Bad Public Policy.
Despite the realities of every other government-run health care system in the world, President Obama, in typical fashion, is attempting to sell his plan to the American people with empty promises – by telling you exactly what you want to hear.
”If you want to keep your doctor, you'll be able to keep your doctor,” Obama says. “If you want to keep your present health plan, you'll be able to keep your present health plan,” he tells us.
But if his government-run health care plan passes, Obama will never be able to keep those promises and he knows it.
Jim Lindgren, writing for the popular Internet blog Volokh Conspiracy, spelled out the reality of Obama’s plan:
"[I]f the Obama plan is enacted, a substantial portion of employers will cut their health subsidies — raising their employees’ share of contributions to the company plan — in order to drive some of the employees into the government exchange and the public option. Other employers may drop their plans altogether — after all, workers could buy their own coverage in the government exchange — or simply fund part of their workers’ participation in the exchange. These changes, which would be the direct results of the implementation of the Obama plan, would make it virtually impossible for Obama to keep these promises..."
And, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office recently reported that the plan currently under consideration in Congress would cause about 23 million Americans to lose their private insurance.
Another thing Obama failed tell you is that even if he could keep those promises – and he can’t - keeping your doctor or your present health plan won’t matter when government bureaucrats start calling the shots and telling your doctor and provider exactly what they can and cannot do… when and how they are allowed to treat patients and how much they can charge for that treatment.

Don’t Take Our Word for It, Here’s Obama And Other Proponents of Government-Run Health Care In Their Own Words…
Earlier this year, the New York Times Sunday Magazine published a lengthy interview with Obama in which the President gave the American people a small taste of what he envisions for health care reform.
Consider what Obama said:
Obama: “Part of what I think government can do effectively is to be an honest broker in assessing and evaluating treatment options."
Translation: Government bureaucrats will step in and call the shots. Both you and your doctor will be shut out from determining appropriate treatment.
If that doesn’t worry you, the President elaborated further:
"The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill..."
“There is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place."
Just what do you think Obama’s talking about here? Trust me, these are scary times if you’re chronically ill or over the age of 55.
If you have diabetes or high blood pressure or multiple sclerosis – or are diagnosed with heart disease or cancer – your future doesn’t look very bright based on the President’s comments above.
If the feds determine you’re costing more than you’re worth, well, it’s been nice knowing you.
Even Obama’s top health advisers have emphasized that America should value the lives of young, healthy people more than those of old, sick individuals.
One such adviser is Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Obama’s pit-bull chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel.
Kevin Williamson of National Review Online describes Dr. Emanuel’s views:
“He wrote in The Lancet in 2008: ‘Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination.’ We all were young once, the argument goes, and so denying the elderly and weak in order to care for the young and fit is just.”
Does that sound “just” to you?
And, Obama claims that his health plan won’t involve rationing or reduced care. But that’s ridiculous, because all government-run health systems suffer from those drawbacks.
In fact, government-run health care supporters in Congress have already made a down payment on rationed care.
Specifically, 1.1 billion has already been appropriated as part of the disastrous “stimulus bill” for so-called “comparative effectiveness research.”
What is “comparative effectiveness research?”
Congressman David Obey, Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, explained it in his committee’s report:
“…those items, procedures, and interventions… that are found to be less effective and in some cases, more expensive, will no longer be prescribed.”
What happened to America being a Republic that promises to safeguard the God-given rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?”

Private System vs. Government-Run System...
We are the first to admit that America’s health care system is not perfect. Costs are out of control; access to care is a real issue for some.
Yes, some reform is needed, but “reform” modeled after state-run European and Canadian models is the wrong approach.
After all, despite its flaws, the current health care system in the United States is second-to-none in the world.
Dr. David Gratzer, a Canadian-trained physician who practices in the United States, makes that very point in his book The Cure. Here are just a few examples he cites:
U.S. breast cancer patients are four times as likely to be diagnosed before the tumor has spread… and thus much more likely to survive; U.S. cancer patients generally have much higher survival rates than their European counterparts; American heath care dramatically outperforms the “universal care” systems with heart disease and stroke; and, American researchers in a private enterprise system are responsible for roughly 80% of the world’s major medical advances.
Here’s how Dr. Gratzer describes his own revelation about Canada’s state-run system:
“On [my way to medical school class]… I cut through a hospital emergency room and came upon dozens of people on stretchers – waiting, moaning, begging for treatment. Some elderly patients had waited up to five days in corridors before being admitted to beds. They smelled of urine and sweat. As I navigated past the bodies, I began to question everything I thought I knew about health care – not only in Canada, but also in the United States. … I had begun a journey into the heart of one of the great policy disasters of modern times."
Painful and interminable waits for care are policy disasters Obama “forgot” to mention.
The time is now to tell Congress that you don’t want government bureaucrats making life-and-death decisions for you and your family. The time is now to defeat government-run health care in the United States.

You Think The Canadian System Is Bad? What About The European Systems?
Is the situation really any better in Europe – should we, for instance, emulate the French system?
Consider what one French journalist said at the Heritage Foundation:
“The majority of France’s state-owned hospitals are managed in a way that is reminiscent of the old U.S.S.R. ... In the average French public hospital, it is not uncommon for every window to be open, even in winter, because the heating system in the building cannot be regulated. With the only options being no heat or unbearably high heat, everyone opts for the latter. Predictably, this is not very cheap.”
What about Germany? The British medical journal, Lancet, states:
“The German health care system is facing bankruptcy on an unprecedented scale.”
In Great Britain, one current cost-saving measure is the denial of essential medications to women in advanced stages of certain cancers.
Somehow, Obama “forgot” to mention the stench, the unbearable heat, the withholding of medications and the financial calamities.
Truth be told: Universal health care is a sham and a delusion. It’s universal only in that everyone waits in line and everyone receives substandard care, if they receive any care at all.
On June 15, Barack Obama told the American Medical Association (AMA) that other developed countries – he meant nations like Canada, Germany, France, and Britain – pay much less per capita for health care than Americans.
He’s right… but you also get exactly what you pay for.
Will the health care system under the Obama plan start to follow the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) model, where you take a number.... and wait… and then wait some more?
Dr. Gratzer describes what rationing is like in Canada:
“I trained in emergency rooms that were chronically, chaotically, dangerously overcrowded… all across Canada. I met a middle-aged man with sleep problems who was booked for an appointment with a specialist three years later; a man with pain... who was referred to a pain clinic with a two-year wait list; a woman with breast cancer who was asked to wait for four months before starting the life-saving radiation therapy.”
There’s tremendous irony in Obama’s and Kennedy’s and Pelosi’s mindless drive toward a government-run system.
In Great Britain, France, Germany – and even Canada – there’s a growing push to get people back into private insurance systems, taking the pressure off public facilities and doctors. It’s a move toward – you guessed it – government cost savings.
It’s time to tell Congress – loudly and clearly – that Obama-Kennedy-Pelosi-Care is hazardous to our health, as individuals and as a nation.
